  Other Gods.

  so who are these other gods, then?.

  the societies literature is full of references to false gods, other gods, no gods before me, ad nauseum.. the kingdom squalidies also make frequent referals to "other gods".

  Lady Lee or anyone that knows about meds w/anxiety

  ladylee: why would a doctor put someone with anxiety on lithium?

  no other symptoms just anxiety, guilt (dub stuff ya know) no suicidal thoughts, no depression per se???

  My sister says she isn't depressed, but how can anyone that is afraid to even go out of the house not be.
  
  Her insurance is paying for all the new meds but won't pony up for a shrink, and I think that might be the missing piece to the puzzle.

  Thanx for sharing your story. I believe it echoes that of many who have had the good fortune of finding this place.
  
  I am still very angry with the Witnesses. I doubt that will change soon. I take every opportunity afforded me to take a shot at their cult. For me it is theraputic to express publicly my disdain for them, as zealously as I once preached their crap from door to door.
  
  I struggle with the guilt of how many others I exposed to the "lie" because of my "field service".
  
  Sheila and I are grateful for the hospitality you have extended by allowing us to share in this online community.
  
  I hope you will again get to the point where you do enjoy administrating the board all of the time.

  I appreciate everyones cautious suggestions. My sister is the typical unhappy DUB. Her husband is controling and overbearing. She has guilty feelings about every aspect of her life. She is the kind of person who wouldn't say $#!^ if she had a mouthful. As with myself and all of my 11 brothers and sisters, she has been trying any and all treatments to put a smile on her face and some joy in her heart, fightingdepression.
  
  My problem with the situation is she has turned the responsibility for her treatment over to the doctors. That is never a good idea. My older brother did this and has been a reclusive shutin for the past 20 years. He takes so many different meds that the bottles cover half of hiskitchen table. I wonder how many of them just treat side effects of the others, and which one is actually treating the underlying problem?
  
  Doctors make their money perscribing drugs. Drug companies pay doctors on the side to push their drugs and no matter what might be working for you they will always recomend and then perscribe the "newest" thing.
  
  I spent 10 years on anti depressants. All I have to show for it is chronic plurisy and a heart murmer.
  I ditched the meds cold turkey. Its amazing how you can learn to cope when you don't have health insurance. I removed from my life all things that caused me anxiety, not the least of wich was the JW religion, and made a consious effort to do things that were personally fulfilling and enjoyable.
  I let go the guilt and walked away never looking back.
  
  I don't suggest that anyone follow my lead by any means. My depression was situational and not physiological. My thinking processes needed to be changed not my brain's chemical balances.
  
  Sheila and I are not taking any kind of antidepressants now. She does take the SeaSilver and I might join her after seeing the improvement she has experienced.
  My sister is goingto get a second doctors opinion and investigate alternative treatments.

  Sheila and I decided soon after we were married that our intimacy and the aspects of it were nobody's business, but our own. I figure it is the same for many others.
  
  I always wondered why there were so many detailed rules and regulations for everything from soup to nuts. I think it is a control issue. If you're so busy scanning a list of rules before you make a move, you don't have time to question the need, basis or value of the rules.
  
  My feeling on the "oral and anal" stuff has always been that the "Org" related such practices to homosexuality and thus forbade even married couples from making their own choice as to wether or not it was all right for them.
  
  Jesus said "Love God and love your neighbor". Thats enough for me. What we do in the bedroom doesn't hurt anyone, and quite often "God" is even mentioned by one, if not both of us.

  but it is true.

  women will tell you all kinds of things about how they think and what they feel but the average man is too hung up in his own wants and ego to listen.. i will pick just one thing to use as an example.. when the woman you are with talks down to you or throws out a zinger at your expense she is telling you she has contempt for you and no respect!

  i just got back from going to the nasher sculpture museum in downtown dallas.

  they are having a showing of a rare collection of picasso paintings and sculptures that everyone is talking about.. i'm starting to wonder... maybe i'm not as cultured as a thought.

  nearly every time i looked at one of his works i found myself thinking: "what the hell was mug smoke'in when he did that?

  As Sheila was so nice to point out, I am very opinionated as to what "is" art and what isn't.
  
  I can understand the differet interpetations of reality that lead to differing styles, but for me the determining factor that makes a work "art" is wether or not it took talent to create it.
  If it looks like a cat ran across a palette, walked over a canvas and then chummed a furball on it, then it ain't art.
  
  It takes talent to make an apple look like an apple.
